You will use hand tools, measuring equipment, and specialized deburring and finishing machines.

This is an important growth area for Mahler. We are investing in new equipment and automated processes to expand our assembly and metal-finishing capabilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help develop this department as our capabilities and production volumes grow.

The position is on our Day Shift, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Manufacturing or mechanical experience is an asset, but we are also open to candidates with strong hands-on ability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Training will be provided.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Perform mechanical assembly of precision-machined components.
  • Install hardware such as bushings, dowel pins, threaded inserts, fasteners, and other components.
  • Perform deburring, polishing, blending, and other metal-finishing operations.
  • Operate automated and semi-automated deburring and finishing equipment.
  • Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, presses, and basic measuring equipment.
  • Follow drawings, work instructions, photographs, and assembly procedures.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure parts meet quality and appearance requirements.
  • Accurately record completed work and part movement in our ERP system.
  • Identify quality concerns and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
  • Assist with developing and improving assembly and finishing processes.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Support other production activities when required.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with your hands.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Pride in producing consistent, high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow detailed drawings, instructions, and procedures.
  • Comfortable operating machinery, hand tools, and power tools safely.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Adaptable and willing to shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using a computer for basic data entry and work instructions.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift or move parts and materials.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, metal polishing, automotive work, fabrication, woodworking, jewellery making, or another hands-on trade would be considered an asset.

  • Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
  • Company-provided uniforms and safety equipment.
  • Safety boot allowance.
  • Company events and team offsites.
