Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 3:45 PM – 1:45 AM (includes paid 1-hour lunch).

Mahler Machining is currently hiring a Senior Machinist to support our growing afternoon shift team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a lead role within a precision-focused machine shop known for producing complex, low-volume parts for industries including aerospace, subsea exploration, medical devices, and alternative energy.

We’re looking for someone with a passion for machining, a desire to mentor others, and the drive to embrace modern tools and technology on the shop floor.

Programming experience is required either on conversational (Mazatrol Preferred) or offline programming (Gibbscam Preferred). Mahler is looking for someone who can independently tackle machining new parts while supporting the development of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program using offline CAM software (GibbsCAM for milling) and conversational controls. (Mazatrol for turning).
  • Set up and operate CNC equipment, including vertical mills, lathes, and multi-axis live tooling machines.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications.
  • Inspect components to tight tolerances, ranging from micron level to 0.005”.
  • Create and update digital machining plans and setup instructions using ProShop ERP.
  • Support junior machinists and apprentices with training and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain equipment, organize tooling, and contribute to a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve complex machining challenges and improve processes.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experience but ideally 10+ years in a CNC machining role.
  • Strong understanding of programming and setup for both or either milling and turning operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred; familiarity with ProShop is a bonus.
  • Comfortable working with tight tolerances and high-value components.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a team-first attitude.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is an asset but not required.
