Mahler Machining is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector. This is a full-time position on our Day Shift 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (opportunities for overtime as desired).

We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience. This role could be an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to build a career in precision manufacturing and quality assurance, or for an experienced inspector looking to take ownership of advanced inspection systems and help drive continuous improvement within a world-class machining environment.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that precision machined components meet customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements. Depending on experience, responsibilities may range from performing dimensional inspections and maintaining quality records through to advanced metrology, programming inspection equipment, and supporting AS9100 quality initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined components. 
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, specifications, and customer documentation. 
  • Measure and verify parts using precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, optical comparators, and other metrology tools. 
  • Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation within ProShop ERP. 
  • Support non-conformance reporting, corrective actions, and quality investigations. 
  • Verify material certifications, outside processing documentation, and completed manufacturing records. 
  • Assist production teams with dimensional and quality-related troubleshooting. 
  • Maintain calibration records and support the calibration program. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional quality department. 
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Additional Responsibilities for Experienced Candidates:
  • Operate and program advanced inspection equipment including the Keyence Instant Measurement System ( KEYENCE IM-X1000) and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). At minimum, an aptitude to learn key software.
  • Develop inspection plans and inspection methodologies for new components. 
  • Support AS9100 quality system compliance, audits, and customer quality requirements. 
  • Mentor team members outside of QA (production) to enhancing Mahler’s quality of the overall team.
  • Analyze quality trends and recommend process improvements based on NCR data.

Desired Experience:
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. 
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, aerospace, defence, or other regulated industries is an asset. 
  • Experience operating or programming Keyence inspection systems and/or CMMs is highly desirable. 
  • Experience using ERP or digital quality systems is an asset.
